Nigeria @ 57: Christian group plans 400 hours praise for nation’s unity ON SEPTEMBER 12, 20178:42 PMIN NEWSCOMMENTS By Johnbosco Agbakwuru ABUJA – AS the country prepares to mark her 57th Independence Anniversary some Christian group has planned to hold a 400-hour praises to thank God for keeping the country together despite the myriads of challenges threatening her unity. The organisers of the praise worship said that President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will lead other top government functionaries to participate in the October 1 grand finale of the programme. Already, over 140 Church choirs from different Christian denominations have indicated interest to participate in the praise worship which is also meant to thank God for the recovery of President Buhari and his second year anniversary in office. Addressing journalists in Abuja, Joseph Oluseyi Malomo who is the Coordinator said that the commencement of the activities that will precede the anniversary, was backed by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) ‎and hundreds of volunteers. Malomo said it was specifically designed by the group with the name “Halleluiah Nigeria” to show gratitude to God, especially following the country’s official exit from a biting economic recession. He said, the Aso villa Chapel in conjunction with over 140 choirs drawn from all Nigerian churches will this Thursday begin the activities lined up ahead of the grand finale for anniversary scheduled to take place at the National Christian Centre, Abuja. He said, “Just a few days ago, we received with cheerful hearts the good news that we are now officially out of recession. As if putting icing on the cake, the news came after the whole nation joyfully received the return of our dearest President. “It is only logical for us to gather and return ‎our thanks and praise to this God who responds and answers the heartfelt prayers of all Nigerians. “The Hallelujah Nigeria in conjunction with all churches and fellowships in Nigeria are therefore organizing this exceptional and record breaking praise event to thank this good God who has proven that He holds our Nation dearest to His heart.” Nigeria@57: Group begins prayer A faith-based organisation, Halleluyah Nigeria, says it has begun special prayer preparatory to the country’s 57th Independence anniversary on Oct. 1. Olukoya alerted Christian faithfuls to be wary of false prophets who go around performing fake miracles. The pastor recounted the story of a woman who was tagged ‘barren’ and how a so-called pastor had sex with her on the grave yard in her quest for a child. He said: “When you see someone from nowhere or someone just appears from nowhere, when you can’t identify the church where he got born again and you cannot even trace his roots to any church, then you should be very, very careful to associate with such a ‘man of God’. “These men are always in suits and they see visions. They speak strange languages that are very uncommon and they called it speaking in tongue, these people are always seen vibrating, while preaching. “The same fake prophets are the same sleeping in hotels with the wives of church members.” Daily Post reports that the cleric buttressed his points with an illustration of how a woman who had been begging God for a child went to one of the fake prophets for prayers. According to him, “The man asked her to sleep with him in a cemetery and the lady slept with him on a grave. “But the woman saw a padlock in his hand when she was having sex with him and the padlock was locked during the ejaculation and since then, the woman’s womb was blocked. "How could a man ask his church members to deposit water in bottles in the church for seven days?” he quizzed, adding that many of these things were now happening in Nigeria, and many signs and wonders we see in Nigeria now are sings of disobedience ‘fast means’." The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has banned indecent dressing in all its branches worldwide. MFM stated this when the church’s media committee, led by its chairman, Pastor Oladele Bank-Olemoh, visited the headquarters of The Punch at Magboro, Ogun state. The church on Tuesday, July 12, said its major standard was holiness and that informed its decision to preoccupy itself with the preaching of the gospel. "Nnamdi Kanu with all due respect is bigger and greater than MKO Abiola so the comparison doesn't arise. Nnamdi Kanu is not seeking rulership of Nigeria like Abiola that could reasonably bring him into conflict with entrenched Northern interest whose sole desire is to continue ruling Nigeria. "What is baffling and a unique problem in Africa is the inability of conscientious people to rise up and insist on the truth. Why should the world not compel Buhari to obey a simple court order in a country that claims to know the meaning of the word "law"?" Emma said. We are not after securing bail for our leader we are after his freedom and freedom for the people of Biafra. "Even a child born today knows that any attempt to tamper with Nnamdi Kanu's life will bring the sort of calamity too horrible to imagine in Nigeria. "For sake of clarity we must state that Abacha did not kill Abiola because they both were killed at roughly the same time. So for anybody to come from anywhere to kill our leader must also make sure they kill Buhari too in order to have the MKO Abiola scenario replicated," the group said.
